A rather nice knocked round partly wood-floored pub in a very imposing building. The only hand pump provided a fine pint of Cains although the regulars seemed to all be on bottles or lager. One of the many TVs was showing live action from the pub’s own pool table! Quiz |

A very nice wood panelled interior to the lounge area in this large opened out pub. Small TVs are tastefully incorporated in the decor. Pool table. Function room. Quality of the guest beer was disgusting on my visit. |

This rather tatty two bar pub has a peculiar layout including a large “lean-to” extension to the rear and a number of unglazed “windows” between areas. A mixed clientele from all age groups. LSTV. Exotic dancer |

A plain two sided local, completely empty when I visited, but presumably packed on match days. Obligatory for this area are the sketches of Michael Owen on display. |

A scruffy tatty bar at the front and a superb wood panelled lounge with a dance floor, real stage and wonderful arched ceiling. This looks to me like genuine 1920s architecture and it’s a pity that it is spoiled by a large projection TV, a stack of beer crates on the stage and brewery publicity.
