A beautiful two sided pub with a small bar and a two room lounge side with waitress service. Fine traditional decor with lots of old photographs and the usual collection of old bottles on a high shelf. The excellent house bitter is supplied by Greenall, and is remarkably cheap. This place was such a pleasant surprise in this area of plastic beer that the evening’s plan - ten halves in ten pubs - was put on hold while we had a couple of pints here! |
