A splendid wood panelled and fake beam interior in this very popular two bar food oriented pub. People were queuing for tables in the separate dining area when I visited on a Sunday afternoon. The menu looked good. |

A tiny very nicely preserved and looked after front bar with a wooden floor in this street corner local, now a Cains house. There’s also a lounge to the rear. |

One very narrow bar at the front plus a two room lounge part with waitress bell pushes (not apparently in use) and no counter. The entrance lobby has a nice “Yates’s Manchester Ales” mosaic in the floor. The cask John Smith’s was undrinkable when I visited - no wonder all the regulars were ordering “smoothflow”. |

A nice interior with a wooden floor in one bar plus side and back rooms. The large front windows afford a view of the street and the fort and water beyond. |

A large split level pub with one bar plus a side room and a games room to the rear. The lino floored games room has an impressive mural on one wall. The background music was a fine selection of oldies when I visited. Watch out for the rather saggy seats! |

A rather nice wood panelled interior to this one roomed corner house hidden behind D’Arcy Monaghan’s. Popular with locals. Quiz |
