A plain bar with a pool table, and a very pleasant lounge with LSTV.

G414

A well appointed bar side with LSTV and pool table, and a nice lounge.  I never thought I’d write this, but it was a very nice pint of Walker’s Bitter!

John Smith’s

G417

A rather nice large lounge, plus a plain bar side.  On my visit the pub was totally isolated by major roadworks.  An impressive array of lights, amps and speakers implied a noisy Saturday night’s entertainment.

Earle Street / Sankey Street, Earlestown

Hegh Arms

Theakston, John Smith’s, üPedigree

G414

A nicely decorated pub partially knocked through but with low walls and wide pillars to break up the space.  The only hand pump provided a very nice pint of Pedigree.  LSTV.  Pool table.

G930

Very nice (fake) interior decor with wooden floor and old wooden tables in this “Festival Ale House” with a good selection of real ales and a menu that looks good value.

Crow Lane East / High Street

Old Crow Hotel

üTetley, Tetley

G930

An enormous pleasant Tetley house with two bars plus a couple of partly knocked through side rooms.  LSTV.

248 Crow Lane East / Borron Road

Pied Bull Hotel

üTetley / 4X

G414

A rather nice one roomed pub with side areas, plus a separate restaurant with a rather up market menu.  The food smells good!  The decor is fake wooden beams and the usual stupid quotations painted on the walls.  B&B, function room.

High Street

Railway Hotel

üGreenalls, Stones

F718

Tidy two-bar pub.  Menu looks OK.

Earlestown Station

Ram’s Head

üGreenalls

F718

Friendly pub with a nice interior with beautiful tiling.  A peculiar layout in which the two room tastefully decorated lounge side is served from two “bay window” hatches at the back of the bar.  Real fire.

Bridge Street, Earlestown

Sunbeam

John Smith’s, Boddingtons, Tetley, Strones

G930

A plain friendly bar side with pool table and darts, plus a deserted lounge side.  A sign over the bar announces the “new” 25cl spirit measures!

The pleasant lounge is a little threadbare in this two sided pub.  The hand pump was off on my visit.
