An impressive stone and half timber frontage on this large two sided pub. Inside I’ve got a sneaking suspicion the splendid woodwork is entirely fake. Remarkably, disco lights and an LSTV have been added without spoiling the interior, but the same cannot be said for the wired security glass which is gradually replacing the leaded stained glass windows. |

The slightly tatty and rather ugly 60s exterior hides a large very nicely done one room pub with a separate restaurant. The food looks good. Quiz‡. Unusual to see Tetley Dark Mild still on hand pump. |
